Zanussi and Jack, latest.

My twin brother sadly died on 6th April. Half of my soul has crossed over.

Zanussi has been having problems with his allergies again. He has pinched the cat’s food twice and is now scratching himself to bits. Another visit to the vet is on the cards.

megan has arthritis in her spine and muscle deterioration in her hips. She has acupuncture every week and this helps a bit.  Douglas at Crown Vets  is so good with her and carefully puts the needles in all the right places.  If she feels pain, she lifts her head and licks Douglas on the nose.

I took them both to Nairn beach this afternoon and they had a long walk. I took Megan’s invalid walker and fitted her in it after half a mile.  She looked so relieved to take the weight off her legs. She just loved running along the beach without having to worry about pain in her back.

The launch of Zanussi & Jack

I had a great time yesterday baking small cakes for the launch food table. The goodies have a Spanish flavour. Tapas, wine and refreshments.

Oral and Roise, who live next door are busy making tiny Spanish flags on cocktail sticks to decorate the plates. Thank you so much girls, for helping out and always smiling.

Can’t wait for tomorrow at 2pm. Hope you can all manage along to have your book signed and enjoy the chat and nibbles at the Dementia Resource Centre in Strothers Lane, in Inverness.

Zanussi will be there with an inky paw to put his signature on the first pag

My book

I started to write my book ten years ago.

The title is “Zanussi and Jack”

This is an on-going story of my husband Jack’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease and a wonderful dog I rescued in Spain, after an earthquake.  Megan, our beautiful Springer Spaniel found him in our washing machine in a miserable state of neglect and cruelty.

She practically hauled me along the terrace to the utility area and tail wagging non stop, stuck her head inside the washing machine.  Our darling Zanussi had arrived.
